Popular Japanese discount store Don Don Donki is set to open its ninth physical outlet in Singapore, according to the Business Times (BT).
Aims to open 10 outlets
The news comes amid the Covid-19 pandemic, which has caused many retail shops to shut down or go online.
The exact location has not been revealed.
It was previously announced that Don Don Donki aims to open 10 outlets in Singapore by 2020.
While footfall has dropped due to the Circuit Breaker measures, each customer is spending about twice as much as they would before the virus outbreak, BT reported.
Most outlets in western and central Singapore
Earlier in January, the chain opened an outlet at Jem, which is a stone's throw away from another outlet at JCube.
The outlet at Jem is said to be the largest outlet in Singapore so far.
Currently, the eight Don Don Donki outlets are mostly located in west and central Singapore.
Here are the eight outlets:
- Orchard Central (24 hours)
- 100 AM
- Changi Airport T3
- Clarke Quay Central
- City Square Mall
- JCube
- Jem
- Square 2
