Ben Davis has signed for Oxford United, a football club in English Football (EFL) League One.

Previously playing for Fulham FC

The 20-year-old midfielder was previously playing for Fulham FC.

He had made his first-team debut for Fulham in the 2019 Carabao Cup.

He was also a regular in Fulham’s under 18 and 23 sides.

Two-year deal

According to Oxford United's website, Davis has agreed to sign a two-year deal with the club.

Oxford manager Karl Robinson said: "[Davis'] got energy and talent and has been through the system at a terrific club who have a history of helping young players develop."

Speaking at an Aug. 31 press conference, Davis said that he is looking forward to training with his new team.

He added: "I would bring some creativity [to the team]. I like creating chances, scoring goals, and also working hard in defence."

Born in Thailand, grew up in Singapore

Davis was born in Phuket, Thailand and lived there until he was five.

He then moved to Singapore and became a naturalised Singaporean at nine.

Davis had defaulted on his national service (NS) obligations after missing his mandatory call-up in February 2019.

Davis risks arrest if he ever returns to Singapore.

In August 2018, Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen addressed the issue in Parliament, stating there were no grounds for MINDEF to grant him a deferment for NS and that Singapore's interests must come first.

In October 2019, Davis broke his silence to the media. He said that he had no intentions of completing his NS obligations.

He also said he did not regret his decision, and said succeeding in football was his first priority.

In the 2019 SEA games, Davis was called up for the Thai provisional team.
