US YouTuber reviews S'pore's McDonalds menu, professes love for McSpicy

He's lovin' it.

It's not an overstatement to call the McSpicy a national icon.

Created in 1999, the local favourite has also become one of the must-try dishes in Singapore for visitors, well-known for packing a punch and maybe some unfortunate bathroom experiences.

Not just a S’porean thing

For American YouTuber Mikey Chen, Singapore's McDonald's menu has been his favourite all over the world, so far.

Considering that he's been to more countries that we can count with our fingers, these are pretty high compliments.

While he's not the first, Chen is also a self-professed McSpicy lover, having tried it for the first time earlier this year.

Seems like he wasn't able to stave off his craving for long, seeing that he's already back in Singapore for more of our iconic burger.

Calling it a 'spicy chicken sandwich', Chen had a lot to say about the McSpicy:

"Hello baby, how I've missed you."

Same mood, really.

He also regretted buying only the single patty instead of the double McSpicy, because really, that's the only thing better than a McSpicy.

"Honestly, if you brought this chicken sandwich to the U.S. spicy chicken battlefield, fight wouldn't last long.

This is the best spicy chicken sandwich of all fast food chains. Right here in Singapore."

Those are some big claims, but we'll take it.

He also compared to a spicy chicken sandwich equivalent from the U.S. McDonald's menu, the spicy McChicken sandwich.

"When the spicy McChicken Sandwich sees this, it has to kowtow to show respect.

This is like one of the spiciest chicken sandwiches, and this isn't your typical Taco Bell fire sauce kind of heat. This is a Welcome-to-Southeast-Asia kind of heat."

Wow.

Reviews other S'pore McDonald's menu items

Besides the McSpicy, he also tried some other exclusive items, including some items on our breakfast menu.

He seemed to like the scrambled egg burger with sausage, but the emoji potato didn't sit as well with him.

Neither did it with one of our colleagues, actually.

For a change of pace, Chen also had some of our traditional breakfast items from Ya Kun, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
