On August 23, 2019, Marine Parade NPC posted an appeal for more information regarding a shop theft case at a guardian outlet in 112 Katong.

The lady was filmed eating what appears to be some potato chips.
Now, it isn't entirely clear if the lady in question actually stole the chips, or if she is suspected of stealing other items from the shop.
The innocuous photo have gripped Singaporeans, with the post seeing quite the marked increase in shares compared to previous appeals for information by the police.
Although some did speculate it might be a misunderstanding of sorts.
The incident took place on August 18, 2019, although the Facebook post has been taken down.
