There's been a growing trend of governmental organisations being more loose with how they present themselves.

One of the foremost purveyors of this new age marketing technique is the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

But they might have some competition soon.

The mistake being that the sailor is actually one from the Chinese navy.

On Tuesday, not missing a beat, Singapore's own Navy responded to this snafu.

The "from 1967 onwards" is in reference to how the Navy was founded in 1967.

"On 5 May 1967, the Navy ensign was raised for the first time at Telok Ayer Basin."

With this caption.

"We can't give you a 50% discount, but we will give you our 100% all day, every day."

They also gave the nice little tidbit about coffee in Singapore.

"Seven million kilograms of coffee were shipped to Singapore by sea in 2018."
