She is also busy with upcoming projects.

Local artistes Carrie Wong and Ian Fang became the talk of the town in May after salacious texts between them were leaked.

Fellow actor Lawrence Wong got involved, somehow.

First public appearance since scandal

On June 29, Carrie made her first public appearance since the scandal at Our Tampines Hub.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, Carrie Wong was there alongside Lawrence Wong, Jeffery Xu, Nick Teo, and Chen Yixi to promote their upcoming series, My One in a Million.

Wanbao noted that Carrie was smiley on stage, and appeared to be in a rather good mood.

However, it was observed that Carrie had little interaction with Lawrence -- on stage and off stage.

Being more cautious

After the event, Carrie accepted media interviews, where she did not dodge questions related to the scandal.

When asked about her current state, Carrie replied while smiling: "I'm doing well, thank you!"

She told Wanbao candidly:

"If I said the scandal didn't affect my work, that would definitely be a lie. A lot of things were affected, but the most important thing is to finish up my current jobs properly.

Carrie was also filming for the series when the incident blew up:

"Luckily, producer sister Meilian and the crew were very understanding, they took care of my shooting process and emotions. Everyone was really busy [over it], and that was why we finished shooting successfully."

In the interview with Wanbao, the actress also shared the lesson she learnt from the incident, namely to exercise caution in her words and actions:

"Unfortunately, celebrities' private lives are often scrutinised, which is why we have to take note of our behaviour."

Carrie also mentioned that she has not been in touch with Fang since the scandal.

Working with Lawrence on set

Lawrence, whom Carrie was caught badmouthing with Fang, has since accepted the actresses' apology.

As for her experience working with Lawrence afterwards, Carrie said:

"We wrapped up the shoot on a positive note. He [Lawrence] is a very professional actor, and everyone completed the job with plenty of laughter, and I'm very grateful for that."

Endorsement deal unaffected

Regarding recent reports that she had an upcoming role swapped out for another actress, Carrie explained:

"This is not the first time they changed actresses for the role, but it got implicated by the scandal, which led everyone to speculate if the swap was related.

However, I really am busy with other things. I also heard that the character was someone in her thirties, so perhaps they thought I wouldn't be mature enough. But I'm not too clear on the details, as my manager handled this."

Carrie added that she has shoots and activities lined up the next week, and that her endorsement with Bonia remains unaffected by the scandal.
