Basically the captions will be some variation of the gates of heaven, or some motivational post on reflection.
Comments on the post usually involve their family or friends marvelling at the sight and super clear reflection in the photograph.
Almost as if it was purposely designed to have the most visual impact on a photo-sharing site.
Turns out it is.
Heart broke
Polina Marinova, editor of Fortune Magazine, shared her own experience at Lempuyang Temple on Twitter.
But instead of the filter-heavy photos that dominate the Instagram landscape, hers was a sobering behind-the-scenes look.

Yup, it's just a guy using a piece of glass to give it that ethereal effect.

Which saw many downright bummed at the reality of the situation.
Although some did point out the presence of far less impressive water bodies.

But the thing is, even though the locale doesn't feature a shiny veneer of an impossibly clear lake, it is still objectively pretty.
