A Scoot flight from Gold Coast to Singapore on Monday, Jan 21, had to be diverted 20 minutes after takeoff.
This was due to an unruly passenger on board.
A video of the scuffle in the plane was shot by a fellow passenger and reported by Australian 7 News.
Flight TR7 was scheduled to land in Singapore at 3.15pm.
The eight-hour flight was diverted to Sydney as a result.
Cause of ruckus
The confirmed cause of the ruckus and diversion is not immediately known.
But it was reported that the man who got kicked off the plane eventually was allegedly drinking heavily after the Scoot flight got delayed.
The TR7 flight was supposed to depart at 9.20am, but eventually took off only at 12.09pm.
Fight on plane broke up
Scoot said in their Monday statement that an Australian man on board punched another passenger.
Video showed arms and legs flailing, as punches appeared to be thrown.
Crew members and passengers were seen stepping in to break up the fight.
The airline said: "The unruly passenger was eventually subdued with two restraining kits, with the help of five passengers."
The decision was then made to divert the flight to Sydney. The man was then handed over to local law enforcement.
The passenger who was assaulted said he did not require medical attention.
All affected passengers were then transferred to alternative flights -- Scoot TR13 and Singapore Airlines flight SQ242 and SQ288.
