Policemen do lots of things to keep the citizens safe.

One policeman, however, went the extra mile of buying a toy for a lost child.

Autistic child reported missing

On Jan. 16, a Facebook post by one Siti Shahira reporting that her child, Danish Farazqi bin Md Fazlee, had gathered over 1,000 shares.

Later in the day, the Singapore Police Force put an appeal for information on the whereabouts of the 7-year-old boy.

According to Danish's grandmother, the young boy with autism had apparently gone missing while his mother was sending his two other siblings to school.

He was reported to have been last seen wearing a white and orange shirt, paired with orange shorts at Blk 61 Geylang Bahru at around 10am on Jan. 16.

Found safe at NEX

Three hours after the appeal was first posted, Danish was found at NEX, a shopping mall in Serangoon, by patrolling officers from Serangoon Neighbourhood Police Centre.

The boy had apparently taken several buses before finally reaching his destination.

Police buys toy for child

While the police could have just returned the child safely to his family, they decided to go beyond that.

After finding the boy in the shopping mall, the police actually bought a toy for the child.

Aww.

Afterwards, the boy's mother updated her Facebook post, thanking her friends and family, as well as the SPF for their efforts in locating the child.
