It's not everyday we get to see this side of him.

It's not every day that you get to see PM Lee Hsien Loong in a candid fashion.

So, to PM Lee's credit, he has released a blooper for the trailer for the National Day Rally 2017 where his candidness is in full bloom.

NDR trailer a challenge

The trailer this year was a considerable challenge for PM Lee because he had to deliver his lines while walking towards the moving camera.

Here are the bloopers uploaded to his official Facebook and Instagram pages on Aug. 24.

Last week, I tried something new. For my trailer for the National Day Rally, I had to walk and talk at the same time. TV personalities (especially David Attenborough!) make it look easy, but it is harder than you think. I am not quite like “Wonder Woman” Mdm Teo Yoke Lan but after a few tries, I finally got a “clean take”. My team caught my bloopers on video, and put this clip together. Have fun on a #throwbackthursday. :) – LHL (PMO Video by Alex Qiu and Chiez How)

In one of the outtakes, he explains while chuckling that while walking, his mind would go blank, gesturing that the words escape his head.

After several attempts, this was the final product that was released:

On trend

PM Lee has been demonstrating his social media prowess in recent times, with his Instagram stories and his Facebook post referencing a meme.

This shows his continual approach towards embracing youth culture and technology, in our push to become a smart nation.

In fact, just a day before, he had tweeted Tan Min-Liang, the CEO of Razer who proposed to roll out a possible e-payment system.

We'll probably get to see more of PM Lee's candid presence in time to come -- but becoming a functional smart nation, however,  might take a little longer than that.
