The ever-enterprising Chew Chor Meng has rolled out a new F&B delivery concept that specialises in traditional braised meat called Solid Lu Delivery.

Instead of taking the traditional route by setting up physical stores for brands like 888 Mookata, the now-defunct Famous Zhou, and Famous Pao Fan, Chew's new store is fully online (for now).

Recent Covid-19 restrictions prohibit dining-in until June 13, leading to 888 Mookata taking a break.

Wednesday and Saturday dinner deliveries

On May 20, the Instagram page for Solid Lu Delivery posted an announcement that they are taking in orders.

At the moment, they are only catering to dinner deliveries for Wednesdays and Saturdays with limited portions.

You may make your orders via their website with a flat fee of S$10 for delivery.

Free delivery is available for orders above S$80.

Although the post said that orders for next Wednesday (May 26) were open, there were no available delivery slots when we tried to check out our order at the time of writing.

They will be opening slots for next Saturday (May 29) this weekend so those who are keen to try need to be quick, lest all the slots are snapped up.

Signature braised duck wings

According to the website, the store only uses fresh ingredients and their braising gravy comprises more than 12 different Chinese herbs without any monosodium glutamate (MSG) or any preservatives.

There are 10 braised products listed on the website with add-ons such chilli sauce (S$1) and white rice (S$1).

Their signature dish is the Braised Duck Wings (S$18.80 for 10 wings).

For those who are "saliva-conscious" (more so during the Covid-19 pandemic) or just don't like the idea of household vultures stealing bites of your food, fret not.

Solid Lu offers individual servings of Lu Rou Fan (S$9.90) and Pig Trotter Bee Hoon (S$16.90).
