Olympic champion Joseph Schooling successfully defended his title as the king of 100m butterfly at the SEA Games this evening (Dec. 6), trailing behind teammate Quah Zheng Wen until the last second.
Schooling clocked a time of 51:84 seconds, a shave ahead of Quah who swam a time of 51:87 seconds.

Schooling has dominated this SEA Games event since 2013, making this his fourth title in the 100m butterfly race.
The swimmer also earned himself a ticket to Tokyo 2020 at today's event, which had a qualifying time of 51.96 seconds.
He has been dubbed "King of the butterfly" by media outlets since he came to prominence in 2016, after he dethroned swimming legend Michael Phelps during the 2016 Olympics.
Shock defeat in 50m butterfly last night
Schooling was defeated by teammate Teong Tzen Wei yesterday (Dec. 5) at the 50m butterfly event, which he had won in 2011, 2015 and 2017.
The 50m butterfly race was not included in the 2013 SEA Games.
Quah, who won the 100m backstroke event on Wednesday (Dec. 4), also earned his ticket for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a qualifying time of 53:79 seconds.
