An Asian man in San Francisco, California, took the simple two-step KFC rice cooker recipe originating from Japan a step up by slapping a few more ingredients and steps to it, and making it even tastier.
At the same time, he still showed exactly how easy it is to make and eat for the starved and the time-starved.
What else he did
Instead of just dumping KFC original flavour chicken into a rice cooker with uncooked rice and water, he showed what else can be done to make a fuller meal.
Posting about his little experiment of boiled fried chicken greatness on Facebook, his recipe added some much-needed fibre and greens to the mix for an all-round nutritious feast comprising proteins, vitamins and carbs -- albeit a greasier version of chicken cooked with rice.
Instead of settling for fish sauce or soy sauce, the man added some chicken broth with a copious pinch of saffron for the Japanese short grain rice for an enhanced aromatic flavour.
The KFC in the rice then turned steamy golden -- the current downside being that you can't smell it through your screen:
The chicken is then removed from the cooked rice and deboned:
Cooked corn and greens are then mixed in, with the chicken that has been shredded:
Hail God, hail Japan. Eat:
