You might also have felt slightly disturbed, and here's possibly why.

But one scene served as a standout in a movie with quite a few standouts.

But basically it's to juxtapose the slouching, weary way in which Arthur Fleck climbed the stairs at the beginning of the film.

Perhaps if Fleck were to try and recreate the scene again, it might be a little difficult with all the selfie-takers on the stairs.
