Good news for house hunters. HDB will offer more flats in the next few months.

According to a press release from HDB, the following Build-To-Order (BTO) flats will be made available:

• 4,500 BTO flats in Ang Mo Kio, Tampines and Tengah in November 2019.
• 3,000 BTO flats in Sembawang and Toa Payoh in February 2020.

Some flats are available for open booking, and you can find out more at HDB InfoWeb.

Eligible flat buyers may apply online on a first-come-first-serve basis, and book a unit as early as the next working day.

Rental market

HDB also released some information about the rental market.

The third quarter (Q3) saw an uptick in number of flats rented out as compared to the previous quarter, 56,474 over 55,763, an increase of 1.3 per cent.

However, approved applications fell in Q3 by 2.7 per cent, 12,006 as compared to 12,335 in Q2.

But this was still seven per cent higher than the number of approved applications in Q3 of 2018.

Resale market

The resale market is not to be left out.

HDB said that the resale price index (RPI) rose by 1 per cent in Q3, from 130.8 to 130.9.

The RPI tracks the overall price movement of the public residential market and is based on the quarterly average resale price by date of registration.

However, resale transactions fell by 0.2 per cent, from 6,276 cases in Q2 to 6,264 cases in Q3.

Resale transactions were 11.3 per cent lower as compared to the Q3 of 2018.
