Voices For Animals (VFA), a volunteer-run group that rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes retired breeding dogs, is holding an adoption drive this weekend, October 6 and 7, 2018.

Majority of dogs are HDB-approved

Majority of the dogs that will be up for adoption are HDB-approved breeds.

Here's a look at some of the adorable doggos:

Most of the dogs are estimated to be at least five years old -- no puppies will be up for adoption.

The exception will be these two HDB-approved Daschund-crossed puppies, who are around 10 weeks old:

However, they are born with genetic defects that render them unable to walk properly -- the result of missing hind joints.

As such, the puppies will likely drag their hind legs over any defecation, which will lead to track stains on home floors.

VFA stated that they are not suitable for family with young children and families who are looking for highly-active dogs.

These puppies will require patient owners, preferably experienced in handling senior dogs with walking difficulties.

The organisation also advised potential owners to consider the financial implications for adopting these dogs as they will probably require medical attention, therapy, and maybe even surgery.

Adoption drive at Turf City Road

Here are the details of the adoption drive:

Date: October 6 and 7, 2018 (Saturday and Sunday)

Time: 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm

Address: Sunny Heights, 110 Turf Club Road, Singapore 288000

"Adoption is commitment...for better or for worse, in health or in sickness," VFA wrote in a Facebook post.

As interested parties should only adopt when the entire family is ready, VFA has stated that the entire household -- including helpers -- must be present for the adoption process.
