For the whole month of October, in celebration of Children's Day, Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) is offering free entry to kids to Jurong Bird Park, River Safari, and Singapore Zoo.

One child enters for free for every paying adult

There's a catch, of course.

Free admission for one child is only applicable with one paying adult ticket. Kids will have to be between ages three to 12, and local residents.

The promotion is part of the WRS's outreach programme to educate children on the dangers of single-use plastics, dubbed the "Deadliest Monster" to wildlife.

Every year, over a million animals are killed when they mistake plastic products for food or get tangled up in plastic debris.

As part of the campaign, children can watch WRS animal ambassadors such as Ippy the Macaw, Luke the Pelican, and Phillip and Pedro the Sealions demonstrate sustainable practices to combat single-use plastics.

Kids can also get on a self-guided Fight the Deadliest Monster Trail, where they can learn about and pledge to fight plastic pollution.

Children who complete the trail will receive a "Little Otter Litter Trouble" book.

There are also photo opportunities with WRS's wildlife mascots at all three parks.
