One thing we have learnt recently is that the Singapore Police Force (SPF) is not as straight-laced as we thought:

Now, the SPF has a witty new advertisement to discourage pickpocketing among the population:

In case you can't see it:

Guard your belongings from wandering fingers.

Theft from person is an offence punishable with an imprisonment of up to 3 years and / or with fine.

If you have any information related to such crime, please call the Police hotline at 1800-255 0000, or submit the information online atwww.police.gov.sg/iwitness.

Pick anything but pockets

If you don't get the poster, the police is telling you that you can pick anything — your nose, ears, teeth, fingernails etc — but pockets.

The ad has been met with plenty of approval, with more than 700 shares and close to 150 comments at time this article was written.

SPF was also pretty game in replying to someone who commented with the overused heart-stealing joke:

But it seems like somebody spotted a loophole:

And of course, we also have naysayers who took it very, very seriously:

But nice ad, SPF.
