A wave of disapproving judgment was passed on Twitter, unleashed upon a group of teenage girls from Singapore who "debuted" as a K-pop group.
Nathan Hartono shows support
Well, Nathan Hartono, a rather famous local artiste, has shown his support for the group.
This is what Nathan Hartono said in his tweet:
#beaunite thoughts: art and beauty have different shades. what matters most is having people who are willing to try being a part of that wonderful spectrum. try and fail. try and succeed. try and try again, crazy ones. but all is lost when all we do is *~bitch and moan~* ❤️

Started young
Hartono was a teenager himself when he first started out as a newbie singer trying to make it in Singapore, a country that's known for its highly critical and unforgiving music fans who much prefer foreign to homegrown music.
Most Singaporeans only started to take notice of him when he participated in, and subsequently won as runner-up in a popular Chinese television singing contest Sing! China.
K-pop fans remain unswayed
Unfortunately, he wasn't able to sway the opinion of the K-pop fans, who called Beaunite out in the first place.
The most up-voted comments stood by their unwavering disapproval of the teenage group, saying that while it's good that the girls are doing what they love, they shouldn't have done it in the way that they did.

A quick recap as to why lots of them are adamant in their views towards Beaunite: The Singaporean girls in Beaunite seemed to take on the concept of debuting lightly, when the reality is that the K-pop industry is very highly competitive.
Often, K-pop idols may be, to a certain extent, manufactured and managed, but they are still products of hellish training with strict diet regimes and preferably with multiple skills in singing, dancing, acting and whatnot.
To have Hartono voice his support for a group, thus might surprise some given that these girls aren't professional or even close to how Hartono started out.
Hartono won an actual singing competition in 2005, and released his first album in 2006. He was 15 then, the same age as some of these girls who are aged between 13 and 17 years old.
Even if we're not entirely sure if Beaunite is serious about becoming professional stars, perhaps Hartono sees teen girls as starting out from the same roots.
