McDonald's started selling Cheesy Loaded Fries on Dec. 7, which is yesterday.
But it must have felt like a year for McDonald's, with complaints flooding the internet that the cheese fries look nothing like what was advertised:
In fact, McDonald's Facebook page was inundated with disappointed Singaporeans posting photos of their cheese fries on the page.
But one case stood out particularly, not only because of the dismal fries served, but also because of the service recovery from McDonald's.
This was what the customer got when he ordered a meal through delivery app UberEATS:
A dab of cheese, a dash of sour cream, and no bacon.
Disappointed, he decided to get in touch with McDonald's:
And this was McDonald's response:
Said customer eventually got a refund of 80 cents from UberEATS, although we highly doubt that the deliveryman ate the cheese and the bacon.
McDonald's has stated that they are "sorry" and "reinforcing [their] restaurant procedures to ensure [they] deliver on [their] commitment to offering quality food enjoyment for [their] customers."
We'll see (coughsaltedeggyolkburgercough).
