Students taking the O level examinations this year sat for the English Listening Comprehension paper on Oct. 26.

Jut like recent years, the questions were broadcasted over radio via the Symphony 92.4.

This year's exam was notably difficult and challenging, with many students feeling frustrated and angsty.

Affected by thunderstorms

In particular, shortly after the examination was over, a few students came out on social media to complain that the rain and thunderstorm that happened during the listening comprehension adversely affected their performance at the examination.

The thunderstorm seemed to have affected mostly students from the East, such as this one redditor who was taking the exam in Tampines.

The situation seemed bad enough for the candidates to take to Change.org, to petition Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) to let them retake the exam or adjust the grading of their papers, considering the unforeseen circumstances of the time.
