Eatery Sunset Grill & Pub has apologised on Facebook after facing backlash online:
This is the apology in full, in case you cannot see it:Dear Chun and Singapore,
Given the social media exposure our reply to your question of “Are we halal certified” has received in the recent few days, we felt it appropriate to respond that our answer was excessively sarcastic, and should have been more tactful and respectful. You mentioned that you had dined in Sunset Grill and Pub previously so therefore it was assumed you would have known that we serve a full menu and are a fully licensed Pub.
A simple “No we are not” as an answer to your question would have been more suitable. Our apologies for any offence to yourself and the citizens of Singapore by our comment.
We are not Racist, nor have prejudice against any Religion, be it Christian, Islam, Hindu or others.
Sincerely,The management of Sunset Grill & Pub Pte Ltd.
This was after the eatery provided a sarcastic response to a potential customer asking on behalf of a friend if the eatery is Halal-certified.
"Pork loving"
The eatery had responded to a customer query by saying that Singapore is not Saudi Arabia and the restaurant is “pork loving”.
In a July 23, 2017, review on the eatery's Facebook page, the potential customer wrote about the bad experience.

These are some of the reviews on Sunset Grill & Pub's Facebook page in retaliation:
Previously at Jalan Kayu
Sunset Grill & Pub was previously located at Jalan Kayu. And before that, it was inside Seletar Airbase.
The eatery is known for its spicy wings.
Based on information from the eatery's current Facebook page, it moved to its present location at Sembawng Road in March 2017 and the management has changed hands.
The eatery is also known for putting up a Confederate flag on its premises and featuring it in photos on the establishment's Facebook page.
