According to the Press Secretary from MHA, Minister Shanmugam was absent for the Parliament Sittings on March 7, 8, 9 and 10, 2017, because he was on a working visit to Australia. When he goes on an official visit, he has to apply for leave, and such visits have to be fixed based on schedules of several people, including the Australian counterparts.
