This uncle standing beside an MRT reserved seat is either Khaw Boon Wan or Henry Thia

No sighting of Henry Thia as of yet.

A photo has been circulating on Singapore forum HardwareZone showing an uncle leaning on a glass pane beside the reserved seat on an MRT train.

Here it is:

Now, while there is no front profile of above-photographed uncle, we think it might be Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan. In fairness, it could very well be his doppelganger, Henry Thia, but we have good reason to believe it is actually the Minister himself.

In fact, on Wednesday evening, Khaw posted pictures of himself meeting with students from Temasek Junior College.

Same clothes!

And in his post, he mentioned this.

"I took trains and buses to reach the students."

Which is a weird thing to put, but seems to give credence to our identification of the uncle in the picture we introduced to you earlier.

In the post, Khaw also briefly touched on the signalling issue that has plagued commuters over the past few weeks, stating his confidence that the issues will be settled in the next few weeks.

"But we are confident that the system will stabilise soon for NSL. And then we can focus on changing the EWL’s system."

Khaw’s utilisation of the public transport system is not new though. He has been seen riding the trains as part of his job of assessing how well these things work in Singapore.
