Two Singaporean men who previously found some fame appearing on Singapore Idol in 2004 are finding fame in each other in 2017.

Steven Lim and Sylvester Sim will supposedly fight each other for real in a Muay Thai bout on Sept. 23, 2017, at Marina Bay Sands.

This "celebrity" fight-off at the inaugural Asia Fighting Championship (AFC) is organised by Muse Fitness Club Singapore and event company Axseed Events.

The hype for the bout so far looks real, as interest is low and fans are expecting a sh*t show.

This is so as Sim wrote on Facebook on July 13 to confirm the bout is all set and ready to go:

Lim is 40 while Sim is 34.

During a press interview at the Asia Fighting Conference on July 25, both men talked smack about each other as they traded primary school insults.

The event was reported by Channel 8:

Sylvester Sim and Steven Lim spoke to Channel 8 news at the Asia Fighting Conference on July 25.

Both knew each other from Singapore Idol in 2004, where Sim took second place and Lim courted controversy with his antics. However, both were rumoured to be on unfriendly terms since.

During the interview, both didn't deny the feud. However, both admitted that they had set aside their differences.

Sim, 34, said the reason why he was able to move on was due to his maturity.

"Perhaps when I was a young punk previously. (I would say) 'I will find someone to beat you up', 'I will find someone to kill you'. These were what I'd say when I was younger. I'm still like this now -- if I see something that I'm not happy with, I will be frank."

"One thing I respect about Steven Lim is that he's brave. Until today, he's still doing silly things. I think it's good that he has so much passion in what he's doing."

Lim said that he had forgotten about the feud.

Sim said: "Jeet Kune Do was invented by Bruce Lee, whom I love. Many people misunderstood that Jeet Kune Do is Taekwondo. Jeet Kune Do is a combination of many different martial arts. So I practised it previously."

When asked about their preparations for the bout, Sim jokingly said: "Every day, I will paste his (Steven Lim) face on the striking board."

Lim said confidently that he has been practising Muay Thai for one and a half months. He is currently practising on his boxing and kicking, and will not stop practising.

"I'm very confident that I will beat Sylvester Sim. If I lose, it might be because I'm careless. However, I will not allow myself to be careless."

When Sim heard it, he rebutted: "We will know on that day. It's useless even if I say too much, let him talk."

During the interview, Sim also poked fun at Lim. When asked about what's his and Lim's strengths, Sim said: "He's fatter than me!"

"His punches are quite powerful, But he might not be able to beat me because I'm faster."

Lim said his advantage lies in his built. He is currently working on gaining mass and muscle. Sim however taunted him: "Just say you are fat."
