If you are the sort who enjoys making strange connections, here's one for you: A nondescript fried carrot cake stall operating for three decades in Ang Mo Kio and the prime minister of Singapore.
Here goes:
Singapore's most famous blogger to have been successfully sued by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is Roy Ngerng.
Roy Ngerng's father is Ngerng Mui Cheu, who has been frying carrot cake for the last 30 years at his stall at Block 107 Ang Mo Kio Ave 4.
Block 107 Ang Mo Kio Ave 4 is located in Kebun Baru ward.
The Kebun Baru ward was under Ang Mo Kio GRC.
Ang Mo Kio GRC belongs to PM Lee.
However, the General Election in September 2015 saw the electoral boundaries redrawn.
Kebun Baru then came under Nee Soon GRC instead.
Three months after GE2015, in December 2015, Roy Ngerng was ordered by the court to pay S$150,000 in damages to PM Lee, where the full sum will be paid off in installments of S$100 a month at first and then S$1,000 monthly, until 2033.
So, in short: The blogger who defamed the prime minister of Singapore has a dad that fries carrot cake in the GRC that belonged to the prime minister when he got defamed by the fried carrot cake seller's son, but the boundaries were redrawn two years ago, so the fried carrot cake seller's stall is no longer in the GRC belonging to the prime minister.
So, even shorter: Roy Ngerng's father's fried carrot cake is the best in Ang Mo Kio and Nee Soon GRCs because he has been at it for 30 years, regardless of what you think of his son or Singapore politics.

Both white and black versions of the carrot cake are available at either S$3 or S$4. The more popular one is the black version, which is charred and sweet.
Even though the making of the carrot cake has been outsourced because Ngerng senior is getting on with age, he still personally fries the dish with generous servings of chye poh (preserved radish) and eggs.
This also probably explains the unique operating hours: Closed three days a week and only open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Back in the 1990s, when his carrot cake cost S$1.20, you could even bring an extra egg along with you from your home for him to fry into the dish at no extra cost.
But those were the days when a S$1.50 serving would see you eat carrot cake until it comes out of your nose.
