Singapore swim star Joseph Schooling has made history again.
After beating swim legend and 22-gold Olympic medallist Michael Phelps not once (2016 Texas Longhorns Elite Invite), but twice (2016 Olympic 100m butterfly heats), Schooling has just broke the national record and achieved another personal best with his 50.83-second swim in the semifinal race.
This timing puts him as the fastest finisher of the 100m butterfly semi-finals at this year's Olympics and also sets a new Asian record.
This means that Schooling has become the first male Singapore swimmer to book a place in the Olympics finals. Watch his swim from Channel NewsAsia here:

Here is how Schooling has improved over the years:
Schooling’s teammate Quah Zheng Wen missed out on the 100m butterfly final after he posted a time of 52.26s to finish 15th out of 16.
The final of the 100m butterfly will take place tomorrow morning at 9.12am, Singapore time.
