Lawyer and opposition politician Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss said she was physically attacked by former human rights lawyer and activist M Ravi.
In a Facebook post she put up on Tuesday morning, Chong-Aruldoss said she was approached at a corridor outside a law firm's office by Ravi, who was accompanied by three "huge guys". She said he spoke to her, but she didn't want to engage him, and so ignored him and walked away.
But he then pushed her to the ground, she alleges, and started accusing her of hitting him first. She said he also took her belongings, which included two bags she was carrying and subsequently her shoes, and threw them at her, while also kicking the items she had in her bags that fell out onto the floor.
Here's her rather disturbing account of what happened:
Unfortunately, hers isn't the first complaint alleging a physical attack on Ravi's part. One of his former legal trainees, Charles Yeo, also said he was physically attacked in June, when Ravi allegedly hit him on the back of his head:[related_story]M Ravi, who suffers from bipolar disorder, has recently been involved in a spate of attacks on various lawyers at their officers, and was in June also charged with criminal trespass at renowned lawyer Eugene Thuraisingam's office.
An op-ed in The Online Citizen also previously mentioned Ravi's struggles with his mental illness, and his continued failure to stay on medication or seek medical treatment.
According to a report in TOC, Eugene Thuraisingam's firm is also filing a police report over the incident.
