The body parts found in a Tai Po village house were “confirmed” to belong to 28-year-old Hong Kong model-socialite Abby Choi, according to HK01.

The bodily remains, namely two legs and a skull, were first discovered on Feb. 24 and Feb. 26 respectively in a house in Lung Mei Village, which is located in the Tai Po District.

They were subjected to DNA testing and were confirmed to belong to Choi, the news outlet reported on Mar. 6.

Choi’s other body parts such as her arms and torso remain missing.

Hong Kong police had earlier discontinued a three-day search operation for Choi’s body parts in a landfill due to the lack of “important evidence”.

The case

Six suspects have been arrested for their involvement in the brutal murder of Choi as of Mar. 7.

The latest suspect, a 41-year-old man named Lam Shun, was granted bail at HK$50,000 (S$8,560) but barred from leaving Hong Kong, according to an earlier report by HK01.

He was accused of attempting to help Choi’s ex-husband Alex Kwong, another suspect, escape Hong Kong via sea.

The other suspects charged and arrested include Kwong, his father, mother and older brother.

A woman believed to be the mistress of Kwong's father was also arrested for her involvement.

Here’s a background of the case so far (excluding Lam):
