Some readers might be familiar with the roasted suckling pig.

A Facebook user however found the suckling pig she ordered the S$188 dish from Tiong Bahru Roasted Pig to be quite out of the ordinary.

According to a Facebook post published on Saturday, she was quite sorely disappointed.

She was ordering the pig for a commemoration of the first anniversary of her father's death.

Screenshots of exchanges between her and Tiong Bahru Roasted Pig showed that she had placed the order and paid three days in advance on Mar. 4, before collecting the dish on the morning of Mar. 7.

This was in line with the instructions given to her by a staff member from the restaurant.

"Piggy eye look so raw so scary"

"When reach home we got a ? (sic)," she wrote on her Facebook page.

Having opened the packed suckling pig for inspection, she said that it looked uncooked.

Pictures show a pale looking pig as compared to the dark crisply roasted one advertised on Tiong Bahru Roasted Pig's website.

"Yes it's cooked no worries"

She contacted the restaurant and sent them photos of the pig along with a question — "Is this cook???"

Screenshots show a representative from the restaurant replying:

"Yes it's cooked no worries."

She came back to them asking why the suckling pig wasn't the "crispy type", but screenshots of the conversation do not indicate if received an explanation.

Trying to make the best of the situation, she then placed the suckling pig in an air fryer for five minutes, though the skin remained soft.

As for the commemoration of her father's death, the Facebook user simply said:

"I think my dad see liao also scare and don't eat."

When contacted by Mothership Tiong Bahru Roasted Pig reiterated that the suckling pig had been cooked.

"But we have offered a refund if indeed the item was uncooked."

At the time of contact, the customer had yet to take them up on the refund, the restaurant said.
