The Singapore police is appealing for information regarding a video of a youth taking a sip from a beverage at an NTUC FairPrice supermarket and putting it back on the shelf.

The police issued the appeal on Monday, Feb. 10 after the video made the rounds on social media.

It was first posted on Instagram Story and re-posted on Twitter on Monday.

The video was superimposed with the words “how to spread Wuhan”.

It showed a young man in white taking a drink from the supermarket chiller before taking a swig from it.

Another male can be heard asking about the taste of the drink from behind the camera.

The police said: “Anyone with information (about) this incident can provide it to the police via the i-Witness portal. All information will be kept strictly confidential.”

After the video exploded online, the youths have issued apologies.

FairPrice responded to the issue on Feb. 10 by saying that the incident has "caused unnecessary public alarm, exacerbated by the current coronavirus situation", even though they are aware the youths removed the drinks and paid for them subsequently.
