A National University of Singapore (NUS) student was allegedly the target of a stalker who took upskirt photos of her near Kent Ridge MRT on October 9, 2019.

She first posted about the incident on an Instagram story on the same day.

The incident, according to her account, allegedly began while on the MRT.

The man had apparently trailed her from the MRT station, where they were in the same cabin, all the way to the bus stop at Kent Ridge MRT Exit A.

Another man had informed her that he had seen the green-shirted man tailing her from the MRT, and had taken pictures of her while at it.

The green-shirted man also allegedly took upskirt photos of her while she was crossing the overhead bridge to the bus stop from the MRT.

She also noted that the man bent down to tie his shoelaces very close to her.

NUS informed

Responding to queries from Mothership, an NUS spokesperson said that the university has received a report of the incident from the lady involved.

"On 9 October 2019, the NUS Office of Campus Security (NUS OCS) received a report from a female student who shared that a man had allegedly followed her and took photos of her without her consent. The incident took place that morning at the public bus stop outside Kent Ridge MRT station.

NUS OCS has reached out to the female student, who declined the University’s offer to provide her with support. We understand that she has reported the matter to the police. The University will continue to keep in touch with the female student to render assistance, if required."

The school also assured students that their safety was its number one priority.

"The safety and security of our students remain our top priority. Security measures are in place to enhance the safety of our campuses. Members of the NUS community are also encouraged to remain vigilant, and to report any suspicious activity to NUS OCS immediately."

According to TNP, the police have confirmed that a report has been filed.
