The Thai Meteorological Department announced on October 8, 2019 that December 2019 and January 2020 will be a cold stretch for most parts of Thailand.
Temperature in Bangkok is currently around 32-33°C.
Thai PBS World, however, reports that temperatures in Bangkok are expected to dip to 15 to 17°C.
Northern areas like Chiang Rai could see it go all the way down to 7-9°C, while Chiang Mai is expected to hover around 12-14°C.
Sa Kaew and Chonburi will fall to around 15°C. While Phuket stays cool at around 22°C.
North and north-eastern territories in general will go down by one to two degrees celsius in this month alone.
While Thai winter usually starts around October and lasts till mid-February, the cold weather will be most prominent during late December to mid-January.
