Man with Kerambit knife is only one of the Orchard Towers 7 without legal counsel

He's still facing the death penalty.

The Orchard Towers murder case is ongoing, with a mention taking place for six of the seven accused in court on August 1, 2019.

Here are some updates on the case.

The three with reduced charges, out on bail

Tan Hong Sheng, 22, had his bail reduced to S$15,000 from S$25,000.

Chan Jia Xing, 26, and Loo Boon Chong, 25, were also slapped with a S$15,000 bail.

The three have been out on bail are charged with consorting with a person with an offensive weapon, which carries a three-year jail term with six strokes of caning.

The four facing the death penalty

The psychiatric evaluation for Natalie Siow and Joel Tan is also complete, and their next meeting will be on September 12, 2019.

Siow is represented by lawyers Amarick Gill and Cheryl Ng.

Joel Tan, Tan Hong Sheng and Chan are represented by lawyers Josephus Tan, Cory Wong, and Shane Yeo.

Ang Da Yuan, one of the two who didn't have a lawyer, engaged Kertar Singh, who appeared in court on Thursday morning.

Ang is still undergoing psychiatric evaluation at Changi Prison Complex's medical centre.

Which leaves just Tan Sen Yang, 27, as the lone accused without a lawyer representing him.

Tan has been mentioned in court documents as the person with the foldable kerambit knife.
