Mid-autumn festival falls on September 13, 2019.
Here's a vaguely useful guide for mooncake purchases:
Jumping on the mooncake bandwagon this year is Irvins, best known for their salted egg fish skin snacks and perhaps even the Salted Egg Pineapple Tarts during Chinese New Year 2019.
Irvins Salted Egg Lava Mooncakes
This season, the brand has launched the Irvins Salted Egg Lava Mooncakes in two flavours — Yam and Mung Bean.
The mooncakes are going at S$40 for a box of eight pieces.
Each mooncake comes encased in black charcoal skin, embossed with the Irvins mascot on the top.
At the centre is oozy, gooey, salted egg lava, which is best consumed after microwaving the mooncake for 10 seconds.
Here's a video of how the mooncake looks when cut:

Each mooncake box is also wrapped in a printed fabric which you can reuse.
All mooncake purchases come with exclusive mid-autumn postcards that can be mailed to your friends and family at no charge, simply by dropping them off at selected Irvins stores.
Here's how they look like:
