It's official.
Joko Widodo has been declared the winner of the 2019 presidential election by the General Elections Commission (KPU) in Indonesia.
Won by larger margin than 2014 election
According to The Jakarta Post, the final tally showed that Widodo and his running mate Ma'ruf Amin received 85 million votes (55.5 percent), while the Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno pair received 68 million votes (44.5 percent).
The second-time president, who is more popularly known as "Jokowi", achieved a lead of 11 percentage points over Prabowo this time round.
It is more than double the lead he had over his old rival at the 2014 election.
Unofficial quick count results from several private pollsters have previously called a Jokowi win too, with a margin that is not too different from the official result.
Barring any legal challenge, KPU will officially name Widodo and Ma'ruf as president and vice president on Friday, May 24.
Prabowo said he will reject election result
Prabowo has previously said he will be rejecting the "fraudulent" election results.
The former military general has also made several victory claims since polling day.
Back in 2014, he made an unsuccessful bid to challenge the election result in court.
It is not known if he would do the same for this time round.
