Hungry and/or angry people in Singapore cancel food delivery orders all the time for all kinds of reasons with just a tap of a button on the app.
Very seldom do they worry about what happens to the food that might already be on the way, because out of sight, out of mind.
Cancelled order not wasted
One GrabFood delivery personnel who didn't manage to complete his delivery order after it got cancelled, decided to do some good with it.
He passed what appeared to be a McDonald's meal to a person living out on the streets -- instead of letting it go to waste.
According to the comments on the Feb. 7 post, the man living out in the open was at Taman Jurong.
The post said:
Customer cancel order so we plan give to homeless ppl who need. Today we help ppl another days ppl will help us.
#provision should not be rejected
The only thing that is remotely controversial about the post is that there is perhaps no such things as homeless people in Singapore -- just those who refuse help.
Kind customers
Regardless, kind and classy customers also exist in Singapore.
Previously, one customer informed a GrabFood personnel about being unavailable to receive the meal, which consisted of fried chicken and prata that was ordered.
Instead of simply cancelling the GrabFood order and getting a refund, the customer offered the meal to the delivery personnel as a complimentary evening meal for the Muslim delivery personnel to end his fast at sunset during the month of Ramadan.
