We seek your support and understanding to treat our team members with mutual respect as we reserve the right to safeguard their well-being. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Not new
As taken aback as some might be by the announcement, this initiative is not exactly a new thing.
Back in 2013, 7-Eleven did a trial where they checked the ICs of people who looked younger than 40 before purchases of alcohol and cigarettes.
Back then, a Dairy Farm Singapore spokesperson told Straits Times that the trial was meant to review and enhance their system to comply with sales of age-restricted products.
