Following in the vein of good-looking people getting famous while just doing their job...
This AirAsia flight stewardess, Mabel Goo, found some unexpected fame after a candid shot of her during an AirAsia flight went viral.
Here's the original post.
The caption accompanying it reads.
"Affordable fares with incredible scene, what else to blame??????"
With these two pictures of the unaware Goo.
That post has attracted more than 1,700 likes and 3,400 shares in less than a day.
Which attracted similar posts with more pictures of Goo, such as this one.
Most of these posts utilised some iteration of this Chinese caption.
Singlish translation: My friend loves flying short distances. Kuala Lumpur to Penang also fly. KL to Johor Bahru also fly. TMD, even KL to Malacca. I checked and realised he took AirAsia for his trips. Cheap, no traffic jams, shiok.
Followed by a few different pictures of the aforementioned stewardess.
Even media outlets jumped on the bandwagon.
These posts received a total of more than 9,000 likes and 3,000 shares, all in less than a day.
As expected, many of those likes translated into finding out who this stewardess actually was.
Which lead to an explosion of likes for Goo's Facebook and Instagram profile, more than doubling her followers on both platforms.
The attention even resulted in an apology from the man who initially shared the candid shot.
And fans identifying her on recent flights.

As for Goo, she appears rightfully taken aback by the sudden fame.
Goo raised one very pertinent question on her Insta-story.
