Basically, the Airwrap's motor creates some sort of vortex that leaves the hair perfectly curled.

Industrious netizens aren't letting the hefty price tag get them down though.

They are producing DIY versions of the Airwrap Styler.

So you basically cut off a portion of a water bottle, and make a hole on the side for the hairdryer.

Which begs a very good question.

Not unless you do it for a protracted period of time probably, but just to be safe maybe don't try this at home.
