S'pore drivers can now pre-register with Go-Jek's "GOCAR" service

It says that there has been a "huge amount of driver interest" in Singapore, in anticipation of its launch in November.

Local drivers who wish to join ride-hailing entrant Go-Jek can now pre-register with the company.

The ride-hailing service is called "GOCAR".

It is one of many services that the "multi-platform technology group" is offering, including payments, food delivery, and logistics - essentially the very same services that Grab is providing now.

According to Channel NewsAsia, drivers who pre-register will receive notifications from Go-Jek with "details and next steps" on how to join when the company launches, supposedly in November.

The company also told CNA that there has been a "huge amount of driver interest" in Singapore. This was also evidenced by an informal Facebook poll created by private hire car drivers on the decision to join Go-Jek:

Grab recently rolled out a Monthly Guaranteed Income incentive system.

It remains to be seen if Go-Jek will be following the same path that Grab took with regard to incentivising drivers.
