You might have seen a video of a man riding an absurdly long e-scooter around town.
Here it is.
In case you can't see it:
Caught
Barely two days after the video was uploaded on Roads.sg, LTA posted a Facebook update regarding the man.
Yup, he was caught.
One of the reasons cited by LTA for deciding to impound the device was its weight.
Here's what LTA had to say on this.
“Personal mobility device (#PMD) users, remember to #scootsafe and stay on the right paths. Riding PMDs on the road is dangerous and illegal. Don’t make it your #RideorDie
You may have seen a video of a “super long e-scooter” circulating online: (https://www.facebook.com/Roads.sg/videos/526683154409644/) Our Active Mobility Enforcement Officers (#AMEO) stopped the man seen riding the modified PMD on the road and impounded his device, during routine enforcement patrols this morning. The PMD was also found to be overweight and cannot be used on public paths. #YouCantRideorHide #LaterAMEOCatch
Did you know? Committing active mobility offences, including reckless riding, flouting of speed limits, use of non-compliant devices, and riding devices on the wrong paths, can incur heavy penalties such as fines and/or imprisonment.

According to the LTA, here are the rules regarding PMDs.
Cool.
