The biggest takeaway from The Wolf Of Wall Street movie is that if you can perfect the sales pitch for a pen, you can sell anything.
Sell anything
And the opposite certainly holds true for the latest Singaporean live-selling sensation, Lerine Yeo -- a.k.a. S-hook zehzeh.
Since she is already capable of selling anything, she was recently called upon to help sell random merchandise for the local Chinese 97.2FM radio station.
In a video shot in the radio station's studio, the S-hook zehzeh basically just took three minutes to rattle off off-the-cuff the unique selling points of the radio station's fugly orange umbrella:
Authentic sales pitches
Far from being polished or pandering to the audience, Yeo's easy-going approach is a breath of fresh air to many, as she is seen as being authentic and herself.
She has so far established a natural connection with her audience, who most likely treat her as some old friend dishing out commonsensical advice -- that she makes up on the spot.
Not that it doesn't take effort or come from somewhere.
In a previous radio interview with YES 933, Yeo explained that she got the gift of the gab because of her mother, who used to keep scolding her.
So, when she does sales pitches, she thinks of her mother's scolding.

And to prove that the sale of the umbrella is real, this is Yeo's post on her business page, Misshopper Boutique:
The umbrella is going for S$15 a piece. While stocks last.
