Local influencer Xiaxue has stepped into the Pan Lingling and Hong Huifang saga.

In a series of Instagram stories posted on July 23, Xiaxue provided a summary of the feud and a short explainer on why this stunt could have potentially backfired on Hong.

Hong's rant exposes family to more damage

Summarising Xiaxue's analysis, here's why Hong's rant might have backfired on her:

1. Bringing up a decade-old grudge makes Hong appear to be very bitter.
2. Being vague about what Pan said to Tay Ying leads to speculation about the latter.
3. Revealing that Pan suggested that Calvert Tay take a STD jab makes us wonder if his partner is really promiscuous.

In essence, Hong's rant, while attempting to protect her family, might have inadvertently exposed them to even more damage.

Let's face it, after reading about the saga, chances are you would have gone and Googled for Calvert Tay's current partner - the forums are running amok with speculation on who she is and why an STD jab was needed.

Team Hong or Team Pan?

Xiaxue makes a strong argument on Hong being on the PR losing end but it seems her readers are split almost down the middle when it came to taking sides - Team Hong Huifang garnered 44% of votes while Team Pan Lingling took 56% of votes.
