Hawker offerings in Singapore are evolving rapidly.

And Xin Tian Di Bakery at Old Airport Road Food Centre is keeping up with their handmade cookies and muffins, in addition to pineapple and chocolate tarts.

Which isn't too uncommon— except their desserts come shaped in cartoon characters such as Hello Kitty, Pikachu, Totoro, and Doraemon, as well as all sorts of animals.

And the best thing is, prices start from S$2.20.

Cookies

Each box has around seven to eight cookies, at S$2.20 per box:

More random designs, like Angry Bird and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:

These are butter cookies, by the way.

According to their site, the products are made with less butter and sugar.

We got a box of Hello Kitties:

If you're curious, "homemade" is probably the best word to describe its taste.

They're also of the harder variety that isn't crumbly or melt-in-your-mouth, but take into account that it's made with less butter and sugar.

Not too bad if you like firm cookies.

Pineapple/chocolate tarts

The characters for these are also widely varied:

It's S$2.20 for a box of three chocolate tarts, or a box of two pineapple tarts.

These were pretty decent — the chocolate wasn't the cheapo gold coin type, which is all we ask for.

Muffins

Muffins and cupcakes were also on display, with prices around S$1.50:

The bakery also offers customisations for their cookies and tarts in almost any animal/character you want (although perhaps don't suggest things like Human Centipede).

Otherwise, they also cater for events like weddings, birthdays, first month celebrations.
