In light of local Youtuber Eden Ang's sexual harassment saga, the police have released a statement announcing that Facebook user Kuroe Kun has made false allegations against an Investigation Officer (IO).

Suggestive Facebook post

Kuroe Kun, who penned the viral Facebook post alleging that Ang had sexually harassed her female friend, titled the post as "SALTY POST ABOUT THE POLICE AND EDEN ANG".

In the post that has since been deleted, Kun mentioned that the police had turned her friend away.

As a result, Kun said that the police has "failed" her and "conclusively just lost some trust".

The post also insinuated that the IO had blamed Kun's friend for dressing inappropriately.

No insensitive remarks, friend asked for more time

However, the Singapore Police Force has investigated the case and found out that unlike what was stated in Kun's Facebook post, the IO at Clementi Police Post did not actually "make any insensitive remarks" or "turn Kuroe Kun's female friend away".

"The female friend informed the IO of her own accord that she needed time to consider about lodging a police report."

No lodged report

In fact, the police have requested the victim to lodge a report, but the victim has yet to do so, according to the Singapore Police Force's Facebook post.

"However, she has not been forthcoming in her accounts to the Police and has yet to make a police report, despite our continual efforts to reach out to her."

Malicious allegations not condoned

The police said that complaints or allegations against their officers are taken very seriously and thoroughly investigated. They "will not hesitate to take action against any errant officer" if any allegations against their officers are found to be true.

However, the police also mentioned that malicious allegations against their officers will not be tolerated.

"If the allegations are found to be false and made maliciously, appropriate action in accordance with the law will be taken."
