If you are tired of queuing up for hours at Chef Chan’s Hong Kong-style chicken rice and noodle stall in Chinatown, you can head on down under to Melbourne for a similar fare.
Chef Chan Hon Meng opened his first Australian eatery "Hawker Chan" in Lonsdale St on Dec. 8, with prices starting at A$6.80.
According to Broadsheet.com.au, the restaurant seats 92 people and opens daily from 10am-10pm.
Quality will mirror that of the Singapore meal
Victor Aghtan, who helped bring the Hawker Chan brand to Australia, said that the quality of the rice and noodle dish would be as good as the dish served in Singapore.
Aghtan told The Herald Sun that the Australian restaurant have had people train in Singapore under Chan's guidance.
Chan would also certify the food when he visits Melbourne.
Chan: "I'm very satisfied"
Chan, who was at the opening of his restaurant in Melbourne yesterday, told the reporter that "he was very satisfied" and that the restaurant was going very well.
Chan said that he chose Melbourne because he wanted to bring his food to Australia and that he loved the city.
And the response from the Aussies so far?
Australia's Seven News reported that there were long queues outside Chan's restaurant over the past two days.
