Police-civilian scuffles are not that uncommon these days, but this particular case takes the cake - the civilian who was being restrained by the police threatened to call the police.

The incident happened at Lavender MRT station on Nov. 11, around 12.30pm.

According to Justin Lee, the civilian had refused to hand over his identity card (IC) to three police officers for a routine check. A struggled then ensued.

Lee, however, observed that the officers remained calm despite being faced with physical resistance and verbal abuse.

The civilian, who was on the floor by then, could be heard shouting "报警报警报警!我要报警!报警报警报警!", which translates to "Call police call police call police! I want to call the police! Call police call police call police!"

He even pointed to his bag some distance away, and ordered the police to bring it to him.

Towards the end of the video, a kaypoh passer-by could be heard chastising the civilian in Mandarin: "Singapore is lawful country. You'll be arrested even if you're the president or prime minister."
