You'd probably agree that the well-furnished and cosy showrooms in every Ikea make them great shopping experiences as well as a hang-out spots.

This is compounded by the tempting meatballs and chicken wings in the cafeteria that are bound to earn your money.

China's Ikea

But China's Ikea experience is a whole new level of its own.

This is so as some Chinese people have been treating the showroom as if it is their own home: Many end up sleeping on the beds and sofas the entire day.

Here are some examples:

This phenomenon has been going on in recent years.

It is both annoying and an inconvenience to real customers who want to buy furniture.

It was reported that the air-conditioned environment and comfortable furniture attracted these sleepers in the first place, as they want to escape the unbearable summer heat.

Although there was news about Ikea imposing a ban on sleeping or resting for an extended period of time, that was apparently untrue as Ikea denied putting such policy in place.

So, the sleepers persisted.

Vigilantes take action

Hence, a group of vigilantes decided to take the matter into their own hands.

In this video posted by a Weibo account named Long Ge Kuai Pao (龙哥快跑), Long Ge and his friends would surround the people in slumber and then pretend to check out the bed or sofa so as to get them off the furniture:

What's even more appalling were the responses from these sleeping beauties when they were woken up:

(Translation: What are you doing, what are you doing, are you sick?!)

They showed absolutely no sign of embarrassment and even appeared indignant.

This one even criticised the group for being uncivilised and uncultured for disrupting his sleep:

(Translation: I'm having a good sleep, what are you guys trying to do?)

(Translation: You people, why are you guys so uncultured?)
