You probably have heard of Dragon Ball, one of Japan's most famous anime and manga series, at least once in your life.
Because of its widespread impact in popular culture, there are many jokes about the series that have caught on with fans.
One of them is related to their characteristic screams, which is performed by Son Goku, the lead character of the series, and by other characters when they evolve into even stronger "Super Saiyan" forms.
Much like how Naruto Run events came about, people started making "Scream Like Goku" events.
And just like the origins of the Naruto Run trend, it's mainly believed that these events were created as halfway between a tribute to the series, and poking fun at kids who often take these animated series too seriously.
And yes, people do turn up.
In any case, if you feel your love for Dragon Ball Z building up inside of you and making you want to scream, this is your chance.
There will be one such event happening in Singapore on Sept. 9. It will take place at Chara Expo 2017, which happens at Suntec City Convention and Exhibition Centre.
From the same guys who ironically created the Naruto Run event at Vivocity, the "Scream like Goku" event was actually planned to be held at Merlion Park.
However, netizens had concerns about the legality of the event.
Understanding that fellow Super Saiyans weren't so daring, the "organisers" decided to host it at an alternative location -- where else other than a convention that celebrates everything the event stands for?
In any case, Singapore will get to witness a scream of epic proportions.
That is, if they manage to get their activities through without complaints.
Good luck, Super Saiyans.
